What we are doing together to support immersive professionals is such a small act of solidarity in the long run. We’ve heard stories about housing insecurity, inability to access necessary health care, months-long unsuccessful attempts to receive unemployment benefits, and getting unemployment checks that aren’t enough to cover rent let alone other basic needs. Many of these folks don’t have access to other emergency artist funding and/or are not eligible for SAG-AFTRA or the Actor’s Equity Association. An entire industry has been put out of work.
